NEXT STEPS

The Next Steps highlighted below are ways you can step into more fully surrendering your life, affections, time, energy and finances- every nook and cranny of your life- to Christ. Not because he needs it, but because He is worth it!

Worshiping God is a lifestyle, not just music and singing. When Jesus confronted the Samaritan woman in John 4, he was helping her see that going to a temple (or a church building) and going through the motions for an hour is not what Jesus is asking of us.

“Woman,” Jesus replied, “believe me, a time is coming when you will worship the Father neither on this mountain nor in Jerusalem. You Samaritans worship what you do not know; we worship what we do know, for salvation is from the Jews. Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in the Spirit and in truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks. God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in the Spirit and in truth.” (John 4:21-24)

Because Jesus gave his life to earn our salvation on our behalf, he expects those whom he has drawn and saved to respond in like fashion. Worshiping in spirit and truth means surrendering to Christ in all of life. Worship encompasses every aspect, every moment, every thought, and every action of our lives. Being part of a church family like LBC isn't just about showing up on Sunday; it's about being saturated in God's Word, living in close community with His people, and actively engaging the world with the gospel, which are all acts of worship to Christ.

As you evaluate leaning into each of these areas, it's not a check-the-box exercise to impress God and your friends, but the next step in your journey of learning to worship the Lord with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength (Mark 12:30): this is lifestyle worship.

BAPTISM

Baptism is an act of obedience in response to the gracious salvation we have received only through Jesus Christ. It is a beautiful, physical picture of the spiritual reality of moving from death and separation from God to reconciliation and eternal life through faith alone in Christ alone. If you're interested in being baptized, your Next Step is to register for our next baptism class.

MEMBERSHIP

While the Bible does not specifically mention membership, there are plenty of clues that those in the early church were committed to one another. Christians in the early church were overcome with joy at their reconciliation with God through Jesus and were enjoined to one another as they labored together to make disciples of the nations and to display God's mercy and grace through Jesus Christ to one another, eagerly awaiting Christ's return.

The church today should function the same way for the same reasons. Membership is not a country club where you get fancy perks, but a commitment by each member to submit to the leadership of the church and to being an active and productive member of the church for the benefit of the church and for the glory of Christ, who died and gave his life for the church. MINISTRY TRAINING- FALL 2026

The Bible is not just a good book to read; it is the only book that has the power to transform. In order for us to be transformed by the gift of God’s Word, we need to not only hear it, but do what it says (James 1:19-27). Jesus tells his followers that those who love him will obey his commands and believers will experience full joy as a result (John 15:10-11, 15). For us to love Christ by obeying his commands, we need to know what they are and how to apply them to our lives.

Our Ministry Training Class is designed to unpack God’s Word so that every believer who calls LBC home is equipped to do what it says.

SERVING

One of the great joys of being a Christian is exercising the gifts and talents the Lord has provided to bless and serve others. Serving others is one of the ways you fulfill the command to “love your neighbor as yourself.” We learn to do this first in our homes and then in our church so that we can be a light and powerful representatives of Jesus in the world. You will never fully experience the joy and beauty of the church if you never serve, because we have been designed by our creator to use our gifts and talents to serve and bless others. This is a major way we express lifestyle worship of Jesus. We have lots of areas where you can serve others at LBC. To see your options or sign up, click the button below.

GROUPS

It is through the context of deep community within the church that we find Christ. Acts 2:42-47 is a beautiful example of the Holy Spirit working through God's people in community, fueled by joy and the Word of God. Connection classes, Life Groups, and Men's and Women's small groups serve as on-ramps and vehicles for the deep community we desperately need. GIVING

If lifestyle worship encompasses every aspect of our lives, it also includes how we view and handle our finances. When we understand that every good and perfect gift comes from above, we begin to see that even our finances (those green paper bills we work so hard to earn) are a blessing and gift from God. At LBC, we believe there is no formula for how much we give, but encourage the LBC family to give joyfully, sacrificially, faithfully, and obediently. Why? Because that was the heart posture of Christ as he went to the cross to pay the penalty for our sin so that we can be right with God. God does not need our money; he owns everything, but what we do with our money reflects our worship of Christ. If you are ready to participate in joyful, sacrificial, faithful, obedient worship through giving, you can give online by clicking the link below or in person through our offering boxes located on the back wall of the worship center."
